PRIVACY POLICY
Last update: October 12, 2026
Where I start
Your privacy and your safety are very, very important to me. So, I do not sell, trade, or misuse the information you honor me with.
I use it to serve you in the ways this policy describes.
Please read this policy, because using my websites means you accept it. If you do not agree with it, I respectfully ask that you stop using them.
Words I use
My websites means arianegoodwin.com and the related sites I run as Dr. Ariane Goodwin.
Personal data means information about a living person who can be identified from it.
Usage data means information collected automatically as you use my websites, such as how long you stay on a page.
Cookies are small files stored on your phone or computer.
Service providers are the companies that process information on my behalf.
I am the data controller of your personal data, which means I decide why and how it is used.
What I collect
You share information with me when you buy something, sign up for a free offer, join my email list, book a conversation, leave a comment, or write to me.
That can include your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and country.
Some of what you share may be public, depending on where you share it. A blog comment is one example.
If you share something on a social platform I run, that platform’s policies apply as well.
Usage data may include your IP address, browser type and version, the pages you visit, the date and time of your visit, how long you stay, your device identifiers, and diagnostic data.
I also keep a record of which products you access and what you paid for them.
Cookies
My websites use cookies and similar tools such as tags and scripts.
They remember your preferences, help me see how people use the site, and keep the site working.
You can set your browser to refuse cookies or to tell you when one is sent. NOTE: If you refuse them, some parts of my websites may not work for you.
How I use what I collect
To let you take part in interactive features, when you choose to.
To support you when you ask for help.
To deliver and maintain my offers and courses.
To send you news, offers, and information about work similar to what you have bought or asked about, unless you opt out.
To tell you about changes to my offers or to this policy.
To find and fix technical problems and keep the site secure.
To learn how the site is used so I can improve it.
You can opt out of any email with the unsubscribe link at the bottom. If emails keep coming after you unsubscribe, write to me and I will stop them right away.
When you reply to one of my emails, I read it and answer it myself.
Your reflections in Mapping Your Creative Aliveness™
When you move through Mapping Your Creative Aliveness™, you share personal reflections about your creative life.
Your reflections are stored on my private servers, and no AI tool touches them at any point.
I do not sell them, share them for advertising, or use them to train anything.
Your email address goes to AWeber so I can send you the emails that follow.
You can also email ariane@arianegoodwin.com to ask me to delete your reflections at any time.
AI and your information
I use Claude, an AI tool from Anthropic, as a research assistant and thinking colleague.
You can read, in my own words, How I Use AI.
What you tell me in any conversation stays out of AI tools. Your names, email addresses, and order details stay out of AI tools.
The emails and replies you and I send each other stay out of AI tools. Caveat: I have no control over what AI tools any email provider uses, like Gmail.
Your artwork, artist statements, and writing never go into an AI tool. I do not put them in, and I will never ask you to let me.
Recordings, transcripts, and session notes normally stay out as well. If I ever need one in an AI tool, I ask for your permission in writing first.
I do not allow anyone to scrape, copy, or collect the writing, images, audio, or video on my websites to train AI systems or build AI products.
I do not offer an AI chatbot or AI assistant on my websites.
If that changes, I will update this policy first.
Services I use
When you share information with me, these service providers may process it for me.
- ThriveCart handles checkout and delivers what you buy.
- AWeber sends my emails and keeps my email list.
- Stripe and PayPal process payments.
- WordPress, and the company that hosts my website, keep the site running.
Each company has its own privacy policy, which you can find on its website. They handle your information only to do their work for me.
My business partner, Jordan Davis of Socially Exceptional, also has access to my email list and checkout accounts, and she follows the same rules in this policy that I do.
Payments
Your card details go directly to the payment processor, and I do not collect or store them. The processors follow the PCI-DSS security standards for handling payment information.
Analytics
I may use analytics tools to understand how visitors use my websites. These tools collect usage data such as the pages you visit and how long you stay, and the companies behind them have their own privacy policies and opt-out options.
Where your information goes
I am based in the United States, and I process your information here.
If you live elsewhere, your information moves to the United States when you share it, and by sharing it you agree to that move.
I take all reasonable steps to protect your information wherever it goes.
How long I keep it
I keep your personal data only as long as I need it for the purposes in this policy. I may keep it longer to meet legal obligations, settle disputes, and enforce my agreements.
I keep usage data for a shorter time, unless it helps me keep the site secure or working well.
When I might share it
If I sell, merge, or transfer my business, your information may move to the new owner, and you will be told.
I may share it when the law requires it, such as a valid request from a court or government agency.
I may also share it in good faith to protect someone’s safety, prevent wrongdoing, or defend my legal rights.
Security
The security of your information is one of my top priorities. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so I cannot promise absolute protection.
I will do everything reasonable, in my power, to protect it.
Do Not Track
My websites do not respond to Do Not Track signals.
Do Not Track is a browser setting that asks websites not to follow you. You can turn it on or off in your browser’s settings.
Your rights
If you live in the European Economic Area, I process your personal data only when:
- I need to carry out a contract with you.
- You have given your consent.
- It serves my legitimate interests, and your rights do not outweigh them.
- A payment must be processed.
- The law requires it.
You have the right to:
- Ask to see, correct, update, or delete the personal data I hold about you.
- Object to how I use it, ask me to limit it, or ask for a copy in a portable format.
- Withdraw your consent at any time.
- Complain to your local data protection authority.
Your state’s privacy laws may give you rights over your personal data, and you can write to me to use them.
For everyone:
I may ask you to confirm who you are before I act on a request.
Links to other sites
My websites link to sites I do not run. I cannot control their content or privacy practices, so I encourage you to read their policies.
Children
My work is for adults, and I do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and your child has shared information with me, write to me and I will remove it.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time.
I will post the new version on this page and tell you by email or a notice on my website before it takes effect.
The date at the top shows the latest update.
Please look back and check in now and then.
